This year marks the 20th anniversary of the classic DC comic adaptation "V for Vendetta," which first premiered at the 2005 Butt-Numb-A-Thon film marathon. To commemorate the milestone, Warner Bros. Pictures is launching a new project. Variety exclusively reported today that HBO is developing a series adaptation of "V for Vendetta." DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran are set to executive produce, with Pete Jackson, writer of the miniseries "The Death of Bunny Munro," penning the script.

Beyond "V for Vendetta," there's also new movement on the "Superman" spinoff "Jimmy Olsen" series, which was reported to be in development in early July. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, co-creators of "American Vandal," will serve as showrunners for the series. The story will focus on Jimmy and other Daily Planet reporters investigating cases involving superpowered villains, with Gorilla Grodd confirmed as the main antagonist for the first season.
