Gary K. Wolf, the original author of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," recently revealed in an interview with ImNotBad that the film rights he sold to Disney had reverted entirely to him a year ago. This means he now has full autonomy to decide how to utilize all his characters for new projects. Wolf also admitted that he and his team are indeed developing several new films, one of which is a solo feature centered on Jessica Rabbit.
Wolf stated, "The most significant project right now... is a live-action 'Jessica Rabbit' film, adapted from my novel 'Jessica Rabbit: XERIOUS Business' (published in May 2022). This is our primary focus, the first project we committed to developing, and likely the one progressing fastest at the moment."
