Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, has announced the latest product from the movie 'Godzilla: Final Wars', 'Godzilla (2004) Heat Ray Ver. VS New Gotengo', scheduled for release in May 2026.
The Godzilla appearing in the film emerged due to the destruction of the Earth's environment. This strongest monster, who had repeatedly brought the world to the brink of destruction, was frozen in Antarctica by the Gotengo 20 years before the story began. It was only after the Xiliens manipulated monsters to destroy the world that the Earth Defense Force's New Gotengo awakened Godzilla to defeat monsters around the globe, calling him 'Earth's strongest weapon.' His physique is even more robust and muscular, capable of agile movements like saving a soccer ball. His close-quarters combat ability is outstanding, and the power of his heat ray is exceptionally immense, capable of defeating almost every monster with a single shot.
The 'S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2004) Heat Ray Ver. VS New Gotengo' simultaneously includes the Godzilla main body and the New Gotengo in the same scale. The Godzilla body is identical to the previously released 'S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2004)', with Japan's foremost Godzilla sculptor, Yuji Sakai, serving as the prototype creator, colorist, and sculpting supervisor. It thoroughly recreates the detailed appearance of the monster suit from the film, combining abundant articulated joints with precise part segmentation. The difference lies in changes to the color of the dorsal fins and other areas, and the addition of effect parts for his strongest move, the 'Burning G Spark Heat Ray,' recreating his fully revived form after absorbing the energy fired by the New Gotengo during the final battle with 'Keizer Ghidorah' at the end of the film!
As for the New Gotengo, it is also produced based on the prop images used in the film, boasting a length of approximately 19 cm. It meticulously recreates the lines expressed on its exterior armor, and both the drill at the bow and the four side armor plates feature articulated mechanisms. Additionally, the entire vessel is finished with various metallic paint applications to convey a sense of substantial weight.
