The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS is set to release the latest product from the anime *Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS*, the "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus", on November 22, 2025. On the eve of its release, the official box art design, photos of the actual model, and other new information have been revealed.
The ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus is the new form of the Gundam Barbatos, refurbished after Tekkadan's fierce battle with Gjallarhorn in Edmonton. With technical support from Teiwaz, it underwent significant internal and external modifications. It features extensive curved armor to reduce impact from hits and has been lightened to enhance mobility. To achieve a greater sense of unity between Mikazuki and the machine, the Alaya-Vijnana System was further analyzed and adjusted based on past combat data, resulting in an overall performance boost. In addition to its Sword-Mace and Small Maces for close combat, it can also be equipped with 200mm Guns and Rocket Guns on its forearms.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" utilizes precise part separation technology and a rich variety of molded color parts to thoroughly recreate the mobile suit's striking appearance. Not only does the external armor feature high-density detailing, but the internal structure of the "Gundam Frame" from the series is also faithfully reproduced, using colors like dark gray, silver, and gold to express the frame's substantial feel.
This kit uses an improved Gundam Frame based on previous MG IBO releases, with enhancements to the multi-directional shoulder rotation and the forward/backward tilt angle of the waist, expanding the upper body's range of motion. The frame also features numerous interlocking gimmicks: the hydraulic pistons on both sides of the waist extend and retract with the movement of the waist joint, and the inner knee armor moves in conjunction when the leg is bent, avoiding interference and allowing for more natural poses.
The armament includes the Sword-Mace, two Small Maces, and the forearm-mounted 200mm Guns. Furthermore, a separately sold "Exclusive Expansion Parts" set is planned for future release. It will include expansion parts such as the lightning-like "Eye Glow Effect" and the "Helmwige Reincar's Greatsword," allowing you to recreate the incredibly cool poses of the Gundam Barbatos Lupus during its one-on-one battle against the massive Mobile Armor "Hashmal."
