Japanese studio "STUDIO24," under its "THE KING OF COLLECTORS'24" series derived from SNK fighting games, is set to release a PVC painted finished model of the classic character "Iori Yagami" based on "The King of Fighters '98." The suggested retail price is 19,800 JPY, and it is expected to be released in October 2026. His sworn rival "Kyo Kusanagi" is also available for pre-order simultaneously!
The ever-popular antagonist "Iori Yagami" from "The King of Fighters" series is the last descendant of the Yatsukami clan and the sworn rival of protagonist Kyo Kusanagi. The Yagami family was originally named Yatsukami, guardians of the "Yasakani no Magatama," one of Japan's Three Sacred Treasures. However, out of jealousy for the Kusanagi family's power, they made a blood pact with the ancient demon Orochi (Yamata no Orochi), changing their surname to Yagami and gaining Orochi's blood. The color of their flame attacks also changed from red to purplish-blue. The family was cursed with "mothers dying in childbirth and their descendants becoming violent," leading to the "Riot of the Blood" and uncontrollable madness.
Sculpted by Hirofumi Inasaka and meticulously crafted by STUDIO24, the new "The King of Fighters '98" series "THE KING OF FIGHTERS '98 Iori Yagami" PVC painted finished product is conceived with the idea of blending illustrations by artist Shinkiro and in-game character designs. It aims to convey realistic sculpting and intricate painting, recreating the thrilling battles of yesteryear! Standing approximately 18 cm tall, it perfectly captures his iconic hunched battle pose that makes one worry about his spine, his familiar leg straps, and his vibrant red hair covering half his face... exuding an endlessly nostalgic "chunibyo" vibe! The exposed muscles on his chest and the delicate wrinkles sculpted into his clothing are also incredibly captivating.
With the A3 background board bonus and stickers, you can recreate familiar in-game battle scenes!
The early bird pre-order bonus for Japan is a purple flame background effect part!
