To commemorate the release of "The Solitary Gourmet The Movie," the Japanese toy company Max Factory has officially announced the latest product in its popular figma action figure series: "figma Goro Inogashira: Yutaka Matsushige ver. Renewal Edition - Nostalgic Diner Set"! The reference price is 14,800 JPY, with a scheduled release in September 2026.
The protagonist of "The Solitary Gourmet," Goro Inogashira (played by Yutaka Matsushige), is a merchant who deals in imported goods. While visiting clients, as soon as he gets hungry, he immediately seeks out a restaurant to feast, savoring local delicacies during his work breaks. Though he appears to be alone, he thoroughly enjoys his meal times undisturbed by others, savoring each dish by himself while internally monologuing and critiquing every detail from the restaurant to the food.

He's hungry... after this update! Making its return, the "figma Goro Inogashira: Yutaka Matsushige ver. Renewal Edition" not only features his weathered face from the movie, updated with new sculpting technology to more closely capture the likeness and spirit of actor Yutaka Matsushige, but the hairstyle, wrinkles, and mole are also more realistic. The furrowed-brow 'hungry' expression is an absolutely perfect recreation! The face plates include a "standard face," a "hungry face," and a "satisfied face." The Nostalgic Diner Set also includes a diner entrance scene that exudes a retro atmosphere, complete with a backdrop, table, and chair, which you can customize with stickers. Paired with accessories like a bowl of rice, miso soup, a plate with a fried egg, and gelato, you can recreate scenes of Inogashira dining solitarily at the diner!
