BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, a Japanese company, has announced the latest product in its 'HG (High Grade)' robot model kit series, the 'Brutishdog (tentative name),' from the classic anime 'Armored Trooper VOTOMS,' slated for release in June 2026.
The ATM-09-GC Brutishdog is a specialized unit for Perfect Soldiers, modified from the Scopedog. It features a unique pink-toned paint scheme and is piloted by the protagonist Fiana in the series. While its fixed armaments limit its versatility, its overall firepower is significantly enhanced. The unit is equipped with a heavy-duty PRSP backpack for heavy-class units, which not only provides higher output but also extends the PR fluid exchange time, allowing it to maintain a 'high-speed maneuver' state for longer periods.
The 'HG Brutishdog (tentative name)' inherits the design of the previous Scopedog series, utilizing a thick molding technique that doesn't hollow out the interior, thus achieving both a sense of heavy armor and intricate inner details. The cool triple-lens turret on the head not only features rotating and sliding articulation but also uses three-dimensional metallic stickers to recreate a glowing effect for the lenses. Each part uses a vermilion-toned molded color to faithfully reproduce the Brutishdog's characteristic body paint scheme.
Regarding armaments, the right arm is currently seen equipped with a Gatling gun, while the left arm recreates the 'Arm Punch' with a telescopic mechanism, omitting the magazine part. Thanks to articulation points throughout the body, it can reproduce the folded leg posture when parked and dynamic sliding poses using the foot rollers. Furthermore, the Brutishdog is compatible with previously released HG Armored Trooper series kits and expansion parts, allowing for free customization through its standardized joint design.
