Japanese toy company Kenelephant recently announced the release of the uniquely styled whimsical monster gashapon "Tokyo Kaiju Universe Vol.2" (東京怪獣ユニバース Vol.2), a collaboration with renowned Japanese artist "Takuma Fujisaki"! Similar to the previous installment, there are four types to collect, with a suggested retail price of 500 JPY per capsule, slated for release in February 2026.
This work is the 12th installment from Kenelephant's "Passion PRODUCT" brand, which collaborates with artists under the philosophy of "making the world more interesting." The original design comes from Takuma Fujisaki's "Kaiju Encyclopedia: Tokyo Kaiju Universe." Those who purchased the first installment will surely have been captivated by Takuma Fujisaki's imaginative designs,昭和-era inspired styling, and excellent craftsmanship.
This time, the Kaiju Universe lineup includes the Immigration Robot (移住ロボット) Stay Planet, the green monster (グリーン怪獣) Vegetarigon whose head strongly resembles a bell pepper, the planetary monster Metegon whose head and body are covered in craters like a planet's surface, and the Transmission Monster (送信怪獣) Kasabian II. Each character fully showcases Takuma Fujisaki's imagination and romantic yearning for unknown life forms. The artist himself stated that he believes the design of the Immigration Robot will mark a new chapter in gashapon toys in 2026. It truly lives up to being a work conceived over 18 years, making it incredibly exciting!!
