Guy Pearce, the acclaimed actor known for "Iron Man 3" and "Memento," recently ignited a firestorm of controversy with his remarks. Last Friday, Pearce took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his strong sentiments, posting: "I've never detested a group of people as much as I detest Israelis right now. The complete lack of regard for Palestinian lives is appalling. This is shameful and a step backward for humanity every time it happens." While the post has since been deleted, it drew significant concern from the Jewish community before its removal.

Beyond that specific post, Pearce had also shared several other news reports in previous days that contained antisemitic conspiracy theories. One such report claimed that right-wing political commentator Charlie Kirk had been offered over $150 million in bribes to support Israel, an offer Kirk allegedly refused because he didn't want to be involved in the "Gaza genocide." After sharing this report, Pearce sarcastically commented: "Not surprising at all."
Jewish News criticized Pearce, stating that his actions were spreading false and antisemitic conspiracy theories. In response to the criticism, Pearce quickly issued an apology through Jewish News, admitting that he had reposted content containing misinformation and false claims. He pledged to thoroughly verify the accuracy of information before sharing it in the future.
