To celebrate the grand 60th anniversary of the 1966 debut of "Ultraman," Bandai Japan's "Ultra Hero Series" (ウルトラヒーローシリーズ) of Ultraman soft vinyl toys has announced two new additions, numbers 111 and 112: the "Ultraman (A Type)" and "Ultraman Fighting Pose ver." soft vinyl toys! Let's take a look.
First up is the Ultraman (A Type), released in early December this year. This figure perfectly recreates the somewhat peculiar head sculpt of the A Type suit (used for filming episodes 1-13) as it appears today. The slightly unnatural facial wrinkles, asymmetrical design, and loose folds of the suit are wonderfully reproduced. I wonder if there will be a noticeable zipper when viewed from the back? It's truly fantastic to be able to collect Ultraman A Type, with its original, imperfect charm, at such an affordable price in this series! This is definitely a must-buy for any original Ultraman toy collector.

The second item is a brand-new sculpt of Ultraman in a dynamic, ready-for-battle pose. With a slightly lowered center of gravity and raised arms, this stance, poised for close combat with a monster, is quite captivating. Displaying it alongside monsters from the same series would surely recreate many classic confrontation scenes.
