Good Smile Company, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its 'Reincarnation' series, which transforms classic PVC scale figures into "assembly models." The new product, "Saber Lily ~Avalon~" from Fate/stay night, is scheduled for release in June 2026.
Saber Lily first appeared in the PS2 fighting game Fate/unlimited codes. She is King Arthur, Artoria Pendragon, in her youth, with a ponytail hairstyle and wearing lily-white armor. Having just pulled out the "Sword of Selection (Sword in the Stone)," she traveled through various countries to train, earning the moniker "Knight Princess" from those she helped. At this time, Artoria was pure-hearted, a lovable maiden, full of dreams and hope, dedicating herself to becoming the ideal king. She wields the Noble Phantasm "Caliburn (Victorious Golden Sword)." The more complete Saber Lily becomes as a "King," the greater power she can unleash.
The origin of this product is Good Smile Company's "Saber Lily ~Avalon~ 1/7 Scale Figure" released in 2009. Through 3D modeling and metal mold technology, reverse engineering was performed. While maintaining the original sculpt of the PVC figure, the color separation, part division, and assembly structure of each component were redesigned. The original sculptor, Takayuki Kawahara, also specifically upgraded some of the sculpt for this product.
The "Reincarnation Saber Lily ~Avalon~" kit is produced using a rich variety of molded color parts, including skin tone, white, clear white, yellow, and gold. The face parts include a version with pre-printed eye designs and an unpainted version suitable for painting + waterslide decals. With the included waterslide decals that can reproduce some of the decorations and patterns, a straight build (unpainted assembly) can largely recreate colors similar to the original PVC product.
At an approximate height of 20 cm, Reincarnation faithfully recreates the dynamic pose of the original PVC product when unleashing her ultimate skill "Avalon," wielding the Sword of Promised Victory to strike. Her skirt blossoms like a lily, and her face shows a resolute expression determined to become the ideal king. However, the Reincarnation version does not seem to include the interchangeable "Caliburn (Victorious Golden Sword)" accessory that came with the PVC version.
