"The Terminator" legend Linda Hamilton made a surprise addition to "Stranger Things" Season 5, taking on the pivotal new role of Dr. Kay. As the final season officially premieres, Hamilton shared her initial impressions of working with Millie Bobby Brown for the first time, offering effusive praise and stating she "fell in love at first sight" with the young, acclaimed star.
In an interview with Variety, Hamilton admitted she had some initial concerns before joining the cast. She confessed to worrying that Millie, who achieved global stardom at a young age, might have been "spoiled by early success." However, her actual experience was quite the opposite.
"I just hoped she wouldn't be a little diva corrupted by fame, and I wasn't disappointed at all. She's absolutely lovely, and her acting is superb," Hamilton even joked, "I fell in love with her immediately. Thank God she wasn't an asshole, or I would have been heartbroken. She's completely genuine, utterly untainted by fame, and one of the most talented young actors I've ever seen."
In "Stranger Things 5," Hamilton's character, Dr. Kay, is the successor to Dr. Brenner. She is responsible for the military occupation of Hawkins and classified experiments, targeting Eleven from the very first episode. Consequently, the two share numerous scenes. Hamilton described working with Millie as energetic, focused, and seamless.
Beyond her admiration for Millie, she also shared her observations on the Duffer Brothers (Matt & Ross Duffer), calling the creators "very chill" and describing their collaboration as "a perfectly running machine." However, she admitted that the massive scale of "Stranger Things'" production left a strong impression on her. 
"Every scene they shoot is enormous; for me, the scale is astonishingly vast, but for them, it's just business as usual." As an action star from "The Terminator," Hamilton also uncharacteristically expressed that there was a moment when she "wished she could watch this season from an audience perspective," because performing in it herself somewhat diminished the "magic" of watching it.
The first part of "Stranger Things 5" is already available on Netflix, with the second part set to release on Christmas and the finale premiering on New Year's Eve. As the final chapter counts down, fans worldwide are intensifying their final theories, awaiting the definitive conclusion to the Hawkins story.
