Japan's official Mobile Suit Gundam Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, is set to release the limited Gunpla product "MGEX 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam [TWILIGHT COATING]" on December 13, 2025. The official team has released an unboxing and detailed introduction of the product ahead of its launch!

而這款極為豪華的「MGEX 1/100 攻擊自由鋼彈[TWILIGHT COATING]」也同樣運用多種特殊加工、金屬質感成形色，以及蝕刻片貼紙來呈現彷彿冰雪的優雅特殊色調。
In addition to PS parts molded in three different shades of white, some white armor parts feature a "TITANIUM FINISH" where white paint is sprayed over silver-plated parts to achieve a snowy white tone. Many internal frame and other parts are produced using the new "TWILIGHT COATING" technology, giving the model surface a plated texture and polarizing effect that reflects gold, silver, blue, and other colors depending on the viewing angle.
Furthermore, the product includes newly designed "original color water-slide decals" and "3D metallic texture stickers" specifically for this item. These allow metallic silver-textured markings to be applied to various parts of the fuselage, and the considerably thick 3D metallic texture stickers can be used for color correction, enriching the armor's color separation.
The model's outer box design also features a new design corresponding to its special colors, utilizing a highly textured large white background combined with a laser hot-stamped silver "Strike Freedom Gundam" line art, which reflects a rainbow of colors depending on the angle of light. Bandai's logo, product name, and other graphic text are printed separately on another transparent protective sleeve, allowing the complete box art to be admired once removed.
The contents after assembly are essentially the same as the regular version, including the Strike Freedom Gundam main unit, two high-energy beam rifles, two beam sabers, one beam shield effect part, a display stand, and mini figures of Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne. In addition to the fully articulated "EMOTION MANIPULATOR SP" hands, fixed-pose interchangeable hands such as "fists," "open hands," and "gun-holding hands" are also included.
The armament section reproduces the combination mechanism of two high-energy beam rifles to form a "long-range beam rifle," the connection mechanism of two beam sabers, and the "Calius 3" railguns on both sides of the waist feature deployment/extension mechanisms.
In addition to the movable design for wing deployment on the back, it also features an armor deployment mechanism that reveals the internal structure, and a frame extension mechanism when the Super DRAGOONs are ready for launch. After all Super DRAGOONs are launched, the unique "TWILIGHT COATING" texture of the wing frame can be further showcased.
