Netflix's bombshell announcement yesterday — a staggering $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Pictures, HBO, and HBO Max — sent shockwaves globally. While the deal is certain to fuel ongoing concerns about the shrinking theatrical market, employees within Warner Bros. Pictures likely fear the looming threat of layoffs, a common consequence of major mergers and acquisitions that often lead to workforce consolidation and downsizing. However, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav (pictured below) was quick to reassure his staff.

Zaslav recently addressed Warner Bros. employees, acknowledging the turbulent period. "I know the last few weeks have been chaotic, and reading the news every day has been unsettling," he stated. "I understand, but this acquisition is truly beneficial. Their plan is to retain as many employees as possible because they don't have many staff; they don't have their own film studios or a large video game business. So, for our employees, this is a very suitable acquisition."
