Megami Device "Yggdrasill Garmr Ripper" Designed by Nidy-2D-, a New Character Series with Authentic Military Style Appears!

Kotobukiya, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced a new product in its popular "Megami Device" mecha girl plastic model series: the "Yggdrasill Garmr Ripper," scheduled for release in April 2026.

The new character series "Yggdrasill" is designed by illustrator Nidy-2D-, who previously created popular products such as the "Shura Series" and "Koubu Series." This series shifts its theme from Japanese mythology to deities and legendary creatures from Norse mythology, combining them with various modern military equipment. The "Machineca Block2-M body" designed by sculptor Masaki Apsy gives the characters flexible articulation, showcasing the charm of the original artwork.

The first release, Unit 1, "Garmr Ripper," is based on Garmr, the watchdog of Helheim in Norse mythology. Its entire body features a utilitarian exterior armor design, with legs inheriting the precise mechanical design of the Shura series, further refined in its parts composition. It is equipped with modern military armaments such as an assault rifle, multiple daggers, night vision goggles, and magazine pouches. The rifle can be disassembled into a pistol, and the daggers can be combined with the backpack to form a large protective glove resembling a beast's claw.

Accessories include three pre-painted face parts for replacement. All armament parts can be freely detached and attached, allowing for the "Unarmed Mode" to appreciate the elegant physique, or the "Armed Mode" to transform into a cool armed silhouette. Coupled with the flexible and natural articulation design of the Block2-M body, various dynamic poses using weapons can be achieved. Furthermore, various parts of the body are equipped with common standard 3mm ports, allowing for customization and modification with parts from "Megami Device" and other Kotobukiya plastic models.
