The ill-fated "Scream 7" faced significant hurdles after its two lead actresses from the fifth and sixth installments, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, successively departed the project. This forced a major rewrite of the script, which originally centered on their characters, ultimately leading to the return of original protagonist Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, to continue her iconic storyline.
While the full scope of the original script's development may never be entirely known, some insider details are now emerging from an actor familiar with the previous version.

Skeet Ulrich (pictured above), who portrayed Ghostface "Billy Loomis" in the first and fifth films, recently revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW) that Barrera, playing his character's daughter, was originally slated to gradually transform into the new Ghostface in "Scream 7." Ulrich stated, "When we were talking about coming back for the fifth one, the idea was that Billy Loomis would slowly turn his daughter into a killer over the course of three movies. Obviously, that didn't happen because of things that transpired. But other than that, I don't know anything about 'Scream 7.'"
