The popular action figure series "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI", developed by Japanese model maker Kaiyodo, has announced its latest product, "Black Getter OVA Ver.", from the anime "Shin Getter Robo: Armageddon", scheduled for release in October 2026.
Black Getter is an original Getter Robo that appeared in the OVA "Shin Getter Robo: Armageddon". When protagonist Ryoma Nagare was affected by Getter Rays and transported to the moon's surface 13 years later, he discovered several abandoned and damaged Getter Robos. He consolidated all usable parts into one unit, independently completing a single-pilot "Getter 1" that eliminated the transformation and combination mechanism and significantly improved performance compared to the original. Its red body paint was burned during atmospheric re-entry, ultimately transforming into a jet-black body.
The "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI Black Getter OVA Ver.", along with the previously announced "Getter 1 OVA Ver.", is sculpted by the series' master sculptor, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. It faithfully recreates the characteristic barrel-waist and robust body proportions seen in the anime's artwork, utilizing clear green parts and multiple metallic colors such as gold, silver, black, and gray to express the heavy texture of its jet-black body.
With an articulated specification of approximately 16 cm in height, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi has endowed Black Getter with the latest articulation mechanisms. The joints are not traditional pull-out mechanisms but rather multi-axis structures and precisely articulated part divisions that mimic human joints, allowing for a variety of powerful and dynamic poses. The jet-black cape on its back is composed of five parts combined with connecting shafts, which can be freely bent or have their combination method and quantity changed, allowing for a highly dynamic display.
The weapon accessories not only include two "Getter Tomahawks" and two "Getter Machine Guns" as handheld weapons, but also various effect parts to recreate "Getter Tomahawk slash trails," "Getter Machine Gun firing flashes," "abdominal Getter Beam firing effects," "all-directional Getter Spiral Beam scattering effects," and more, allowing Black Getter's various attack moves to closely match the animation's presentation!
Furthermore, ordering this product from Kaiyodo's official stores, such as the Kaiyodo Online Store and Hobby Lobby Tokyo, will grant a limited bonus "Spinning Effect" to recreate the effect of throwing the Getter Tomahawk like a boomerang.
