Getter Robo Armageddon: 'MODEROID Black Getter (OVA Ver.)' Classic GK Work Transformed into a Plastic Model Kit – Recreating Distinct Jet-Black Armor, Head Sculpt, and Battle-Damaged Cape!

The plastic model kit series "MODEROID", launched by the Japanese brand MECHA SMILE, has announced its latest product, "Black Getter (OVA Ver.)", from the anime "Getter Robo Armageddon", scheduled for release in October 2026.

Black Getter is an original Getter Robo that appeared in the OVA "Getter Robo Armageddon". When protagonist Ryoma Nagare was affected by Getter Rays and transported to the moon's surface 13 years later, he discovered several Getter Robos that had been abandoned and damaged for years. He consolidated all usable parts into one unit, and single-handedly completed a single-pilot "Getter-1" that eliminated the transformation and combination mechanism and significantly improved performance compared to the original machine. Its red body paint was burned during atmospheric re-entry, eventually turning into a jet-black body.

The "MODEROID Black Getter (OVA Ver.)" kit stands approximately 15 cm tall upon completion. Its overall design is based on the GK (Garage Kit) statue created by the talented Japanese sculptor Tomonobu Fuchi (T・O・P!). MECHA SMILE utilized modern cutting-edge technology to retain the highly appealing details of the original statue, and redesigned it into an articulated plastic model kit. It recreates the distinct face and the jet-black armor of the entire body, different from the original machine, using multiple molded color parts, clear parts, and some pre-painted sections.

Compared to the weapon accessories of Getter-1 (OVA Ver.), in addition to the two "Getter Tomahawks" of the same specifications, "Getter Machine Gun," and the flip-out mechanism for the abdominal "Getter Beam" emitter, it also recreates the gray scarf around the neck and the "Getter Scythe" mounted on the left arm with newly sculpted parts. The "Getter Spikes" on the hand armor can also be reproduced in their extended or retracted state through interchangeable parts, allowing for various dynamic battle poses and recreating classic poses from the original GK work.

The "Getter Wing" cape, black on the outside and red on the inside, also features a distinct battle-damaged sculpt, showing damaged holes and edges near the bottom. It also comes with both plastic and fabric parts for selection. The fabric part, with its embedded metal wire, can be freely shaped to create highly dynamic scenes.
