Last month, singer Billie Eilish announced that her "Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)" concert film was slated for release on March 20, 2026. This week, distributor Paramount/Skydance finally unveiled the first trailer. The film is co-directed by Eilish and Academy Award-winning "Avatar" franchise director James Cameron, marking Cameron's first venture into directing a concert documentary.

Coincidentally, A24 also released a new trailer today for their own concert-themed film, "The Moment" (see link above). Starring British singer Charli XCX, "The Moment" differs from Eilish's film as it is a fictional mockumentary. In the film, Charli XCX plays a fictionalized version of herself, navigating the challenges and pressures that come with fame while preparing for her debut arena tour.

Written and directed by Aidan Zamiri, who previously helmed the music video for Charli XCX and Billie Eilish's collaboration "Guess," "The Moment" features a cast including Charli XCX, Kate Berlant, Rosanna Arquette, Alexander Skarsgård, Jamie Demetriou, and Rachel Sennott. The film premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and was released in the United States by A24 on January 30, 2026.
