Co-founded by creators Thomas, 6tan, and Tony Li Yongting, who are passionate about games and community, the "G-EIGHT Game Expo" is now in its fourth year. It is dedicated to promoting Taiwanese independent games, allowing more excellent original Taiwanese works to be seen, and showcasing the innovation and strength of the local game industry. It also brings together game developers from around the world, including Japan, Korea, and Indonesia, to participate! Billed as "a game expo for players," the event features a diverse range of games available for hands-on trial play, as well as rich on-site activities such as card collecting, stamp collecting, and check-in giveaways. Players can also interact with developers on-site to delve deeper into the stories behind the games and enjoy a comprehensive experience!
▼This year's exhibition area is very spacious and comfortable! We can feel G-EIGHT's scale breaking new ground.
▼The collectible card game activity features 218 different cards this year alone! How can one possibly collect them all~~~
▼Original Bird Bear's "Path of the Midnight Sun" (《活俠傳》) showcased a game expo-exclusive "Training Tower" storyline, drawing long queues and immense popularity right from the start of the exhibition!
▼Overseas publishers such as Japan's "Shueisha," "Shochiku Games (Shochiku Co., Ltd.)," "Phoenixx Inc.," and "Ukiyo Studios," Korea's "Smilegate - STOVE," Indonesia's "Toge Productions," and Singapore's "Soft Source" have elevated G-EIGHT to a benchmark event for independent games in Asia!
▼Twenty independent game booths have teamed up to host the "INDIE GAME Stamp Rally Playground," where participating in demo plays of games like "Gear Road: Blacksmith Legend," "Bling Bling Goblin," and "Dream Flash Girl" allows you to collect stamps for a prize draw.
▼The 3D action game "Flame Princess" (《炎姬》), developed by Taiwanese independent game team Crimson Dusk, is finally... finally really coming... right?
▼As the official authorized supplier of Valve Steam Deck in multiple Asian countries, KOMODO had several demo units on-site and also brought popular independent games such as "OneShot: World Machine Edition" and "Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S+."
▼JIA JIOU Studio, the development team behind "Kao Yao" (《銬妖》), launched the collectible mobile game "Goblins Want to Fall in Love Too" (《哥布林也想談戀愛》), bringing so much goblin merchandise this time that it felt more like a cultural expo than a game exhibition!
▼Board game brands also joined the grand event.
▼The heart-pounding 18+ adult game theme area had very strict controls, but the Toy Expedition Team wouldn't miss the chance to serve gentlemen, so we've selected a few sections for a sneak peek! If you want to challenge playing "spicy" games in public, be sure to come to the site and experience it.
▼The game bust series from adult game publisher "Mango Party" lined up, creating an incredibly stunning display!
▼The "Big Sugar Daddy Era" player voting area: If you like a game on-site, feel free to cast your coin into the piggy bank to become a "sugar daddy" (supporter)!
▼There was also an event where completing tasks gave you a chance to win a fantastic handheld console, the Steam Deck OLED~
▼The strategy game "Nervous Goose" (《神經鵝》), developed by Australian independent game team SweatyChair and published by UltraPlayers and Playsaurus, had not yet arrived by the time the Toy Expedition Team left. It seems that in addition to the game itself being quirky, its method of attracting players at the expo is also quite unique! (Laughs)
