The monster soft vinyl figure series "Toho Large Monsters Series", produced by Japan's PLEX Company and distributed by X-PLUS Company, which features monsters from Toho films, has announced its latest product from the movie "Shin Godzilla", the "Godzilla (2016) 2nd Form 10th Anniversary Ver.", scheduled for release in April 2026.
The Godzilla that appeared in the movie "Shin Godzilla" is a giant "perfect organism" capable of rapid evolution and quick adaptation to its environment. Its initial "Second Form" has an appearance similar to an amphibian, with large gills on both sides of its neck. Its eyes are round like a fish's, and its limbs are not yet fully evolved, preventing it from standing. It can only crawl ashore along rivers in a wriggling manner. Because of its somewhat grotesque yet cute appearance and its landing in Kamata, Tokyo, fans nicknamed it "Kamata-kun."
The "Godzilla (2016) 2nd Form 10th Anniversary Ver." utilizes the same mold as the initial product released in 2017, bringing its powerful crawling and wriggling pose to life in three dimensions with a total length of approximately 53 cm. The entire body features precise sculpting to depict Godzilla's watery eyes, gill slits on both sides of its neck resembling a frilled shark, and highly organic skin folds. Transparent parts are used for the head and dorsal fins, combined with transparent red paint to express the translucent, organic mouth and the glowing texture of its internal energy.
