BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the latest product from their alloy model series 『HI-METAL R』, the "Scope Dog Melquian Army Specification", based on the classic anime "Armored Trooper VOTOMS", scheduled for release in June 2026.
The official main AT "ATM-09-ST Scope Dog", developed by the Gilgamesh Army, was the most mass-produced unit during the Hundred Years War. In the series, besides being piloted by the protagonist Chirico Cuvie, its high versatility also led to various derivative specifications being modified and used across different units. Among these, the standard specification used by the Melquian Regular Army features a purple color scheme. Although it's a standard ST type, it was typically assigned to experienced units.
The "HI-METAL R Scope Dog Melquian Army Specification" is a modified version based on previously released Scope Dog series models. It utilizes new part molding colors, paint application, and body marking prints to recreate the characteristic purple color scheme of the Melquian Army specification. Standing approximately 165mm tall, it reproduces rich armor surface details and the distinctive triple-lens rotating head, boasting a cool, more realistic appearance. Some joints are made with alloy parts, providing both joint stability and a wide range of articulation, allowing for flexible poses such as holding a gun with both hands or squatting to shoot.
For weaponry, it is equipped with the newly molded large anti-battleship shooting weapon "GAT-35 LOG GUN" and a "Parachute Backpack". The LOG GUN boasts an incredibly imposing size and intricate details, with a movable scope mechanism and a distinctive muzzle recreated with clear parts. The parachute backpack thoroughly reproduces the soft, drooping shape of the parachute fabric. When the top hatch is deployed, the internal main parachute is revealed, and the three sets of magazine parts suspended below are all detachable. This weapon set can also be used to equip other "HI-METAL R Scope Dog" series models sold separately.
In addition, the accessories include an articulated "Melquian Soldier" pilot figure of the same scale. The figure features multiple points of articulation throughout its body, allowing for scenes such as climbing onto the unit or operating it in the cockpit.
