Director Guy Ritchie, who helmed the Robert Downey Jr.-led "Sherlock Holmes" film series, is not returning for a third installment. However, his interest in the "Sherlock Holmes" universe remains strong. Next March, Ritchie is set to launch a new adaptation, "Young Sherlock," with Amazon Prime Video, and the first trailer and a teaser poster (below) have just been released.

The series stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes, Natascha McElhone as his mother Cordelia, Max Irons as his brother Mycroft, and Joseph Fiennes as his father Silas. Academy Award winner Colin Firth also makes a special appearance.

"Young Sherlock" is a prequel adaptation exploring the early life and experiences of Sherlock Holmes. Ritchie serves as an executive producer for the series and directed several episodes. It is slated to premiere next March.
The official synopsis reads: "A young, raw, and unpolished Sherlock Holmes finds himself unexpectedly entangled in a murder case that threatens his freedom. His first case unravels a global conspiracy, culminating in a thrilling showdown that forever alters his life. Set in 1870s Oxford, the story then expands overseas, showcasing the early adventures of the rebellious teenager before he transforms into Baker Street's most renowned detective."
