Following up on their Popuko & Pipimi Spacesuit Ver., Hong Kong-based brand Ember Toys is back with a second release from the hit comedy series "Pop Team Epic" for their Chibi Creature sofubi line: the Chibi Creature Popuko & Pipimi Shining Shoulder Ver.! This set is slated for a June 2026 release, with a suggested price of 17,600 JPY.
For the uninitiated, "POP TEAM EPIC" is a surreal four-panel comedy manga by Bkub Okawa, chronicling the bizarre daily adventures of its protagonists, Popuko and Pipimi. The series is infamous for its off-the-wall gags and dialogue often described as "too advanced for humanity," and its distinctively chaotic art style has a way of captivating even those unfamiliar with the source material. The anime adaptation took the absurdity to another level, utilizing a wild mix of animation styles—from wool felt stop-motion and claymation to retro video game sprites and the signature look of experimental studio AC-bu. Famously, each episode features a different pair of voice actors for the main duo, earning it the affectionate title of "The Shittiest Anime of All Time" (and that's a compliment).
The Chibi Creature Popuko & Pipimi Shining Shoulder Ver. sofubi set brings the duo to life in their Hero and Sage outfits from the "Shining Shoulder" adventure segment! The figures are scaled according to their original designs, with Popuko standing at approximately 10cm and Pipimi at 15cm. Pipimi is decked out in the "Armor of Soul Gold" and wields the "Bloodstone," while Popuko wears the "Gargoyle's Garb" and carries the "Rose Staff." The shoulder armor features magnetic attachment points for effect parts, allowing you to recreate their signature shining look! The fabric capes include internal wiring for dynamic posing, and Popuko's pigtails can be removed to equip her hood.
