TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., is releasing a new product under its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand based on the classic popular anime "Sailor Moon R" — the "Sailor Moon -Crystal Star Compact Edition-" action figure. It has a suggested retail price of 7,700 JPY and is scheduled for release in June 2026!
"Sailor Moon" is a work by Japanese manga artist Naoko Takeuchi, serialized in the manga magazine "Nakayoshi" starting in 1992. In 1992, it was adapted into a TV anime by TV Asahi in collaboration with Toei. It tells the story of clumsy girl Usagi Tsukino transforming into Sailor Moon after encountering the black cat Luna, gathering other warriors to fight against the Dark Kingdom, and searching for the Silver Crystal and the truth of her past life.
This "Sailor Moon -Crystal Star Compact Edition-" stands approximately 14 cm tall. The overall proportions and detailed sculpting have been re-adjusted based on previous versions, transforming Sailor Moon's classic appearance from the anime sequel "Sailor Moon R," where she wears the "Crystal Star Compact," into an action figure. The delicate sculpting faithfully reproduces details such as her cute sailor uniform and twin pigtails! Accessories include four sets of interchangeable hands for poses such as "In the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!" and hands-on-hips, three interchangeable facial expressions, the Moon Princess Scepter, and the black cat Luna. This time, Luna's head also features an articulated design, allowing for more freedom in posing various interactions!
