Renowned diecast model brand "AUTOart" is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the popular manga "Initial D," which continues to generate buzz through various projects, with a special commemorative new product—the "TOYOTA SPRINTER TRUENO (AE86) Project D Final Version 30th (78787)" 1/18 scale diecast model car. With a suggested retail price of 39,600 JPY, it will be available for sale starting January 9, 2026, at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, held at Makuhari Messe (Japan Convention Center)!

"Initial D" is a mountain pass racing youth manga by Shuichi Shigeno, serialized from 1995 to 2013 in Kodansha's "Weekly Young Magazine." It tells the story of high school student Takumi Fujiwara, who, under his father's strict training, hones his innate driving skills by delivering tofu. He navigates the mountain passes in his family's tofu delivery AE86, entering the world of mountain pass racing.

This 1/18 scale diecast model recreates the final version from the Project D team era. Produced using 3D scanning of the actual car, it features sharp and realistic body lines. Opening and closing parts like the doors and hood maintain the high standard seen in previous models in the series! As a 30th-anniversary edition, this release features comprehensive adjustments and improvements to the lighting design and interior/exterior details, making the overall appearance even closer to the actual car. Manga-specific details like the white license plate are faithfully reproduced without compromise. Furthermore, it comes with a dedicated metal nameplate, allowing for perfect collection and display of this dream vehicle that has raced in the hearts of toy enthusiasts for 30 years!
