American toy brand MEZCO TOYZ's highly popular 1/12 scale action figure series "One:12 Collective" has launched a new product based on the DC comic "Batman: Year One" – the "Batman" 1/12 scale action figure. With a suggested retail price of US$116, it is now available for pre-order on MEZCO's official website, with an estimated release in Q3 2026!
"Batman: Year One" is a classic comic book arc written by Frank Miller and illustrated by David Mazzucchelli, serialized in "Batman" issues #404–407 in 1987. The story depicts Bruce's struggles and growth during his first year as Batman fighting crime, while also portraying Detective Gordon's journey to uphold justice in a corrupt Gotham City after his transfer. It is one of the most iconic origin stories for Batman.
This Batman 1/12 scale action figure stands approximately 17 cm tall and features 30 points of articulation throughout its body. It utilizes fabric and other mixed media materials to faithfully recreate the relatively simple combat suit design from the comic. The cape features hidden wires on the sides, allowing for dynamic posing to suit display needs! The interchangeable head sculpts include three different expressions and one unmasked Bruce, delicately capturing the immense physical and mental pressure and struggles he endured during his first year as Batman!
The weaponry includes early, experimental equipment such as Batarangs, grenades, blow darts, a recording device, and a searchlight. It also comes with effect parts for explosions and smoke, which can be combined with seven sets of interchangeable hands and a dedicated display stand to flexibly recreate various poses of Batman before he officially became a hero!
