Last July, reports surfaced that Margot Robbie was attached to star in and produce Tim Burton's upcoming remake of the 1958 sci-fi classic "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman." Months later, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed this morning that Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan, a writing duo from "KPop Demon Hunters," have been tapped to pen the latest draft of the script. Both writers confirmed the news in a statement.

"Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman" was a notable entry in Hollywood's 1950s trend of "body enlargement" and "shrinking" sci-fi films. The plot centers on Nancy, a woman who, after an accidental close encounter with a giant alien that crashes to Earth, undergoes a genetic mutation, causing her body to grow to immense proportions. Nancy's transformation further complicates her already tumultuous marriage.
HBO previously remade the film as a 1993 television movie, starring Daryl Hannah of the "Kill Bill" franchise. However, Burton's upcoming iteration is slated for a theatrical release. The script was initially being penned by Gillian Flynn, the acclaimed author of "Gone Girl," but she reportedly had to step away from the project due to scheduling conflicts, leaving her unable to complete subsequent drafts.
