Kotobukiya, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced a new product in its popular "Mecha Musume" themed plastic model kit series, "Megami Device": the "Yggdrasill Skoll Sharp Shooter", scheduled for release in June 2026.
The new character series "Yggdrasill" is designed by illustrator Nidy-2D-, who previously created popular products like the "Shura Series" and "Koubu Series". The theme has shifted from Japanese mythology to deities and legendary creatures from Norse mythology, combined with various modern military-style armaments. The "Machineca Block2-M body" designed by sculptor Masaki Apsy gives the characters flexible articulation, showcasing the charm of the original illustrations.
The second character, "Yggdrasill Skoll Sharp Shooter", is based on Skoll, the wolf from Norse mythology that devours the sun. It is a model equipped with the "Bifrost AM81 Anti-Material Rifle" and specializes in ultra-high precision sniping. Its entire body is equipped with composite defensive armaments that combine bulletproof capabilities with thrusters. These thrusters on its shoulders allow for short bursts of speed, large jumps, and aerial suspension, enabling sniping at the moment of hovering in the air.
The model kit is based on the Block2-M body. It uses numerous new parts to recreate the composite defensive armament design, which differs from the previous release, Garmr Blade. This includes the exposed abdomen, the chest design with only a bulletproof vest, a satellite auxiliary sight that can be attached to noise-canceling headphones, and large shoulder armor with built-in thrusters. It also comes with completely new armaments such as the "AM81 Anti-Material Rifle" and "BH-44M Handgun".
Accessories include three pre-painted face parts for replacement. All armament parts can be freely detached and reattached, allowing for the recreation of "Body Mode" to simply enjoy its elegant physique, or "Armed Mode" to change its cool armed silhouette. Both weapons, the anti-material rifle and the handgun, can also have multiple parts like the barrel, bipod, and scope detached and reattached, allowing you to choose your preferred configuration. Coupled with the body's flexible and natural articulation design, you can recreate signature poses such as jumping, aerial sniping, backflip shooting, and many other extremely dynamic combat stances!
