The popular "Megami Device" series of mecha girl plastic model kits, released by Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, has launched its new product, "Desire Maiden Raider," which officially went on sale on December 24, 2025.
"Desire Maiden" is a brand new character series where Amama, the eye print designer for the "Megami Device" series, is responsible for the character body design, and Tasuku, the designer for the Megami Device "BUSTER DOLL" series, handles the mechanical design. The first unit, "Raider," utilizes deep purple, pink, and black colors to express a mischievous "little devil" style maiden body. Its armaments incorporate "bat" features, designing a head unit with ultrasonic echolocation capabilities and a flight unit equipped with various sword-type armaments and a large shield. This is an assault-type Megami Device specialized for aerial combat and close-quarters battle.
The "Desire Maiden Raider" kit is produced with multi-colored molded parts, reproducing the flexible articulation of the Block2 body, its elegant physique, and the distinctive clothing style of the Desire Maiden. The hair also uses deep purple and pink parts to recreate the streaked colors and dynamic hair strands. The star-shaped hair ornament has independent parts, and the twin ponytails can be replaced with cute twin bun styles.
It includes three pre-painted face parts: "Smiling Face," "Wahahaha Face," and "Timid Face." These face designs are also by Amama, showcasing the character's unique and charming personality. In unarmed body mode, the flexible articulation of the Block2 body and various PVC molded hand parts allow for a wide range of lively and cute poses. The accessories also include replacement body parts featuring only simple underwear armor.
By replacing some parts, Raider can recreate its armed mode with a silhouette resembling a bat. The bat-ear shaped ultrasonic unit on the head and the flight unit connected via movable hangers both feature articulation mechanisms. It is also designed with numerous 3mm universal connection points, allowing the three pairs of different sword-type armaments and the cross-shaped large shield to be attached to the wings or held by hand via the 3mm points, enabling cool flying and slashing poses. You can even unleash your creativity and change the assembly methods to create various original armaments.
