Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, in collaboration with illustrator Morikura En, has announced a new spin-off character product, "Shirayuki-chan," for their everyday-life bishojo plastic model kit series, "Sousai Shojo Teien," slated for release in June 2026.
The "Sousai Shojo Teien" spin-off series is a new project that utilizes parts from main series characters to create entirely new ones. The new character, "Shirayuki-chan," is based on Morikura En's original illustration "Snow White," which combines the image of Snow White from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale with an extremely elaborate kimono design. For her appearance in "Sousai Shojo Teien," she has been reinterpreted to fit the series' main theme of "school uniforms."
The "Shirayuki-chan" kit features completely new head and hair parts, meticulously recreating her bob haircut tied with a red ribbon, and includes two types of bangs: "standard" and "glasses-compatible." The facial expression parts also feature newly designed eye shapes by Morikura En-sensei, and come with four pre-painted expression parts: "tongue-out face," "charming face," "speechless face," and "puzzled face." Additionally, unpainted expression parts and water-slide decals are included for users to create their own expressions.
The posable body uses the same body type as Ema Koishikawa, a petite and delicate figure standing at just 14 cm tall. The skin tone is "Color C," the same as characters like Kuon Yakushiji. The body features flexible articulation, allowing for a wide range of natural and dynamic poses. It also includes 8 pairs of interchangeable hands, a "twisting waist body part" to depict a right punch, a "seiza sitting body part" for a curled-up sitting pose, and three types of skirt parts—"standard," "flowing," and "seiza sitting"—to accommodate various actions.
Furthermore, the product includes many interesting small accessories, such as a "whole apple" and an "eaten apple" to complement her Snow White image, as well as a "tablet" and two types of "mobile phones" that fit the "Sousai Shojo Teien" world. Thanks to the common body scale and size, you can even mix and match parts with other characters from the same series!
