Japan's PLEX company, produced and distributed by X-PLUS company, is releasing a new product in their "Toho 30CM Series" soft vinyl model line, themed after Toho special effects monsters and the movie "Shin Godzilla." This new item is the "Godzilla (2016) 3rd Form 10th Anniversary Ver." pre-painted figure, with a suggested retail price of 28,600 Japanese Yen, and is expected to ship in May 2026!
Directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, "Shin Godzilla" is the 31st film in the Godzilla series, featuring its own independent worldview. Its setting is similar to the original 1954 Godzilla, telling the story of the "giant unknown creature" Godzilla's first appearance and landing in Japan. It achieved a global box office success of 78 million US dollars, making it the highest-grossing Japanese live-action film of 2016!
This "Godzilla (2016) 3rd Form 10th Anniversary Ver." utilizes the mold from the "Godzilla Godzilla (2016) 3rd Form" released in 2017. It faithfully recreates the 3rd form, which advanced to Shinagawa and continued to evolve, affectionately dubbed "Shinagawa-kun" by fans, in a three-dimensional size of approximately 29 cm tall. The finely sculpted details accurately reproduce the rough texture of its skin, and the wrinkles on its feet and its gaping maw are exquisitely rendered! This 10th-anniversary version will feature a brand-new paint application, with transparent parts used for the dorsal fins and neck, combined with an overall more vibrant dark red paint scheme compared to the previous version, presenting a translucent, living biological feel!
