While alien civilizations are a common trope in Hollywood sci-fi, films exploring extraterrestrial visits from a mysterious and suspenseful angle have been notably scarce in recent years. However, this trend is shifting, as Hollywood has greenlit numerous such projects over the past year, with some already released or entering their promotional phases. For instance, "The Age of Disclosure," a documentary focusing on the government's long-standing concealment of alien existence, generated significant buzz last year, and Steven Spielberg's "Disclosure Day" released its first trailer last month.
Beyond these, Joseph Kosinski, director of the upcoming "F1" film, is also developing an alien conspiracy movie, with a script penned by Zach Baylin, known for "King Richard." The project has notably brought on David Grusch, the U.S. Air Force officer who has actively leaked information regarding the U.S. government's alleged research into alien bodies and spacecraft, as a consultant.
Furthermore, Deadline recently reported exclusively that Scott Cooper, director of "Black Mass," is collaborating with 20th Century Studios to develop a film adaptation of the famous "Roswell UFO crash" incident. Cooper is set to write and direct the feature, which will center on a rancher who discovers fragments of a crashed UFO on his property. The successive release of these films is expected to further elevate public interest in the topic of extraterrestrial life.
