[MOSHOW] Original IP Empowerment, Faithfully Recreated! Elite Series Honor of Kings x Endless Starlight Hou Yi Alloy Toy Unboxing

Kicking off 2026, I'm featuring this alloy toy, Endless Starlight Hou Yi, a collaboration between MOSHOW and Honor of Kings. This Hou Yi wasn't originally on my wishlist. The main reason for acquiring it was that after I previously reviewed MOSHOW's alloy toy, Wukong, also a collaboration with Honor of Kings, a forum member messaged me asking if I had picked up the collaborative Hou Yi. And so, I ended up getting this one.

MOSHOW's products, whether in terms of quality control or paintwork, can truly be considered top-tier among domestic model toys. Especially regarding the paintwork, there's little to worry about; the only concern might be paint chipping during handling. As for details, MOSHOW excels, particularly in the intricate paint application. Therefore, when purchasing MOSHOW products, I never worry about the paintwork or quality control; my main concern is whether I have enough display space.

The articulation of this Hou Yi is outstanding. Its metal internal frame structure, combined with exquisite paintwork and detailed execution, makes its inclusion in MOSHOW's Elite Series entirely fitting. My only minor complaint is about the gigantic mechanical bow. The red parts of the mechanical bow are completely unpainted, giving it a very strong plastic feel without even a matte finish – just pure plastic texture. This significantly detracts from the overall appeal of the mechanical bow.

Hou Yi doesn't come with excessive weaponry; it simply has two beam cannons on its backpack, a gigantic bow, and some included effect parts. Hou Yi is primarily designed for pure long-range attacks. Below is a simple unboxing review.

▼ The image below shows the light armor form. The helmet is a single-piece painted part with a glossy finish, while the white areas generally feature a matte texture. The chest light can illuminate, but I haven't installed batteries. The blue on the legs looks much better than the color shown in the official promotional images. Overall, it's a combination of matte and glossy finishes.

▼ MOSHOW has applied a special paint treatment to the head. The entire part is a single molded piece, and the paint quality on the head details is truly exceptional, top-tier. There are no visible glue overflows or sprue marks anywhere on the figure.

▼ Many areas on the shoulders are adorned with intricate details. The exquisite paintwork is evident from the shoulder armor, and in addition to the paint, the detailed decals are also perfectly applied.

▼ I currently don't have spare batteries to make the chest light up. The circular part in the middle of the chest has an illumination mechanism.

▼ The shoulder blades can be pulled upwards to allow for a wider range of arm movement and to help the arms avoid interference.

▼ The arms feature metal joints, which can be pulled outwards to achieve a greater range of motion.

▼ When raising the arms horizontally, it's highly recommended to lift the shoulder blades to allow for a wider range and to prevent paint chipping. Although MOSHOW's paintwork is nearly perfect, its susceptibility to scratches has always been a common issue, so special attention should be paid to areas of interference during handling.

▼ The range of arm bend.

▼ The arm armor has limited interference, preventing full rotation. When rotated to a certain position, it will be stopped by part interference. Do not force it further when it's stuck to avoid breaking parts.

▼ The waist rotation cannot reach its extreme due to part interference, so the range of motion is not very large.

▼ Range of downward waist articulation.

▼ The back features a bionic structure design; when the back is pressed forward and down, all joints articulate in conjunction.

▼ Hou Yi's headpiece (mechanical hair/fins), perfectly recreating its appearance from Honor of Kings.

▼ Each individual fin can be bent independently, and the yellow fins contain internal wires.

▼ The rear skirt armor is an independent part that can be lifted separately. Every time I unbox a MOSHOW toy, I am always amazed by the paintwork and details.

▼ The skirt armor can be lifted upwards, and the crotch area features metal parts.

▼ The color separation on the inner side of the skirt armor is also meticulous; both the exterior and interior are perfectly painted. The color layering in the separation treatment is also excellent.

▼ The skirt armor on both the left and right sides are independent parts, and each component on the skirt armor can articulate individually.

▼ Be careful when lifting this white part to avoid squeezing and scratching the paint.

▼ Independently articulating side skirt armor.

▼ The details and paintwork are also spot-on. The quality of the blue paintwork is impeccable, with no color bleeding whatsoever.

▼ The inner side of the skirt armor also features detailed color separation, with the gunmetal color separation being just right.

▼ The chest can illuminate, but since I don't have the correct battery model on hand, I haven't demonstrated its glowing effect.

▼ The thighs feature two different metallic paint finishes; I really like the gunmetal color.

▼ The internal structure consists of metal parts, and some external parts are hollowed out, revealing internal details.

▼ The foot paintwork is also meticulous, full of details.

▼ The legs can be easily lifted horizontally, and can even kick higher, performing a full high kick.

▼ The thighs feature sliding armor; when the knee bends, the thigh armor slides in conjunction.

▼ After sliding, the armor reveals the internal mechanical structure.

▼ The feet are very stable on the ground, and each foot contains two magnets that can attach to the base.

▼ The leg details, paintwork, and color separation are all spot-on. Each part is color-separated perfectly without being overly abrupt. I personally love the overall metallic texture.

▼ After removing the back cover, the backpack can be attached.

▼ The main body, without the backpack, weighs 362 grams, indicating a substantial metal content.

▼ Full form fully equipped.

▼ Each side is equipped with a beam cannon.

▼ The barrel of the beam cannon can be extended.

▼ Simply pull the upper armor to extend the barrel. When the upper armor is pulled, the lower armor also articulates in conjunction.

▼ The mechanical arms on both sides of the backpack are made of metal. The mechanical arms can rotate in three directions; it is recommended to consult the instruction manual before rotating them.

▼ Below both the left and right beam cannons, there is a cover. After removing the cover, dedicated effect parts can be attached.

▼ The effect parts are here! Those effect parts are extremely, extremely sharp, so be extra careful not to get pricked during assembly.

▼ Hou Yi's sole heavy weapon, the mechanical bow.

▼ The detailed paintwork on the mechanical bow is also spot-on, except for that large red part.

▼ I accidentally broke the grip of the mechanical bow, but thankfully I managed to fix it. Lately, it seems I have to repair toys every time I unbox one, haha! The gunmetal-colored part in the middle is painted, not a metal part.

▼ The mechanical bow's first form, presenting a shorter shape. Rather than a "first form," it should probably be considered its storage form.

▼ The mechanical bow's second form. When deployed, it becomes much larger, with both sides extending outwards to form a gigantic mechanical bow.

▼ Five pairs of interchangeable hand parts are included, which, combined with the main body's hands, makes a total of six pairs.

▼ The hand parts come with a stand, which can be clipped onto the display base for simultaneous display. I really appreciate this design as it saves a lot of space for storing parts.

▼ One nameplate, which also serves as the light effect activation switch.

▼ A signature feature of MOSHOW: a magnetic base.

Summary:

The paint quality and articulation are impeccable, and with the IP's endorsement, the overall recreation is highly accurate. MOSHOW has further enhanced the fidelity by adding intricate details, significantly boosting the overall appeal. The weaponry is somewhat simple, consisting only of two beam cannons and a mechanical bow. The paintwork on the bow, particularly the red parts, was a slight disappointment for me. Price aside, MOSHOW consistently demonstrates a certain standard of excellence in its Elite Series, especially with collaborative projects like this.
