Marvel's highly anticipated "Avengers: Doomsday" has been a hotbed of plot rumors surfacing every few days. From "Avengers" members battling "X-Men" members, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man clashing with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, to Doctor Doom's multiversal variant army, a constant stream of leaks has emerged. The latest wave of speculation, however, centers on Captain America.

Multiple entertainment scoopers are claiming that "Avengers: Doomsday" will feature a showdown between a "good" Steve Rogers and an "evil" Captain Peggy Carter. Prominent Marvel leaker MyTimeToShineH also posted about this, as seen above. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this "good" Steve is the Earth-616 cinematic canon version fans are familiar with.

MyTimeToShineH also claimed that Steve Rogers' decision to travel back in time to reunite with Peggy Carter in "Avengers: Endgame" is the catalyst driving "Avengers: Doomsday" antagonist Doctor Doom to invade various universes. According to the report, Steve's time travel indirectly led to the tragic car accident that killed Doom's wife and children, and also caused permanent physical damage to Doom himself. This, the rumor suggests, is the reason behind Doom's long-standing desire for revenge against the superheroes.
