Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, in collaboration with illustrator Morikura En, has announced the latest product in their everyday bishojo plastic model kit series, "Sousai Shojo Teien": "Saotome Rui [Momozakura High School - Tracksuit]", slated for release in June 2026.
The new character, "Saotome Rui," is a "prince-type" girl with a dazzling appearance and demeanor, captivating both men and women. She is straightforward, consistent, and observant. While highly athletic, she dislikes studying and kissing scenes in movies. Rui appears boyish but also loves collecting small, cute things. After meeting the petite and adorable Ema Koishikawa, Rui was drawn to her pursuit of dreams and often visits Ema with her fated childhood friend, Seira Ichijo.
"Saotome Rui [Momozakura High School - Tracksuit]" meticulously recreates the design by Morikura En using newly sculpted parts. The kit features a total of 13 different molded colors, and the tracksuit jacket's pockets (blue) and zipper (silver) are pre-painted, allowing for a high level of completion straight out of the box.
The assembled Rui action figure stands approximately 16 cm tall. It includes her distinctive slightly wavy short hair parts, 7 pairs of PVC sculpted hands, and four pre-painted interchangeable face parts: "Smiling Face," "Fan Service Face," "Angry Face," and "Blushing Face."
The base body combines an elegant physique with flexible articulation. It comes with three skirt parts to accommodate bent thigh poses, an upper body part for leaning forward poses, and a lower body part for sitting poses. These can be combined with accessories like a school bag and mobile phone to recreate various daily life scenes and more dynamic athletic movements. Naturally, the neck joint remains a common standard across the entire series, allowing for free interchangeability with other characters' bodies and costume changes.
Furthermore, for the heavy motorcycle riding concept, the product includes fully articulated lower body parts for Rui wearing riding pants, and a helmet head part that can be swapped with the expression parts, allowing for cool riding poses when combined with separately sold motorcycle models.
