From Japanese company SQUARE ENIX, the plastic model kit series "STRUCTURE ARTS" is set to release its latest product, "Cloud Strife," from the popular video game FINAL FANTASY VII on January 31, 2026.

The protagonist of FINAL FANTASY VII, "Cloud Strife," claims to be a 1st Class SOLDIER from the elite Shinra unit, wielding the massive "Buster Sword" and demonstrating superhuman combat abilities. At the beginning of the story, he is hired by the anti-Shinra organization "Avalanche" and participates in multiple Mako Reactor bombing operations. As he interacts with companions like Tifa, Aerith, and Barret, Cloud's initially cold demeanor gradually gives way to a sense of responsibility, but his fragmented memories, the meaning of the "Buster Sword," and other secrets slowly begin to resurface.

The "STRUCTURE ARTS Cloud Strife" model is based on the design drawn by designer Tetsuya Nomura at the time of the 1997 PlayStation release. The kit uses seven different molded color parts to assemble a highly articulated figure approximately 16 cm tall, and includes three pre-printed interchangeable face parts. It faithfully recreates his distinctive "Chocobo head," the unique voluminous feel of the fabric on his legs, and the sharply creased edges of his attire.

The model features articulated divisions in the neck, waist, limbs, and boots that do not compromise the original complete sculpt, allowing for flexible and dynamic combat poses. Accessories include his signature weapon, the "Buster Sword," and 8 pairs of interchangeable hand parts. The massive Buster Sword faithfully reproduces the detailed peeling texture on its blade surface, and can be carried on his back when not in use, just like in the game.
