"I am the Child of the Sun, Kamen Rider Black RX!"
To commemorate the 55th anniversary of the "Kamen Rider" series, BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS is releasing a new product under its S.H.Figuarts "Shinkocchou Seihou" line: the "Kamen Rider BLACK RX" action figure, based on "Kamen Rider BLACK RX." It will have a suggested retail price of 11,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in August 2026!
"Kamen Rider BLACK RX" is a direct sequel to "Kamen Rider BLACK." The story is set half a year after the dark organization Gorgom was defeated by BLACK. After Kotaro refused to serve the Crisis Empire, his transformation ability was destroyed, and he was thrown into the sun. In a moment of crisis, the King Stone absorbed the energy of the sun's rays, restoring his transformation ability and allowing Kotaro to transform into the new generation Kamen Rider BLACK RX!
From the initial 2009 version and the version released during the birth of Shinkocchou Seihou in 2014, to its current appearance in S.H.Figuarts with the Shinkocchou Seihou method, BLACK RX can be said to fully encapsulate the evolution of S.H.Figuarts! This Shinkocchou BLACK RX stands approximately 15 cm tall. Sculptor Nagashio Hibiki referenced actual footage from the original broadcast to deduce its three-dimensional structure, further recreating its on-screen appearance using the Shinkocchou technique, sculpting outward from the muscles to the costume, piece by piece!
BLACK RX's design, with almost no visible seams from head to toe, has always been a major challenge when creating an action figure. This time, the production team successfully preserved basic articulation such as turning the head left and right, and tucking the chin, by changing the collar part to a soft plastic material. The collar can also be replaced with an action-oriented part that has a slit at the back to achieve an upward head tilt! The shoulder armor is designed to connect to the torso, with the outside of the joints covered in soft plastic, so the structure is not exposed even when the joints are pulled out. The legs appear to use a soft fabric-like material combined with soft plastic at the hips, which restores the design while also providing high articulation. The ankle parts inherit the movable module previously used in Ryuki, allowing for stable, low-center-of-gravity squatting poses!
Accessories include 6 types of left hand replacement parts, 7 types of right hand replacement parts, a belt replacement part, and antenna replacement parts. The weapon's light saber is made of luminous material, and the blade includes 5 types of blades and 2 types of hilts. This allows not only for recreating scenes of drawing the sword from the Sunriser belt but also for posing "piercing the enemy" thrusting actions!
