The 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, known for its most diverse range of mobile suits and released by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. of Japan, has officially announced the latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX": the "HG 1/144 Expansion Parts Set for Red Gundam," scheduled for release in April 2026. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.

The gMS-α Red Gundam was originally the latest mobile suit, "RX-78-02 White Gundam," developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079. However, due to the successful snatching operation carried out by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot, Char Aznable, this mobile suit, along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1, "Pegasus," fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon. After modifications, an "α-type psycho-communication system" was added compared to the original machine, allowing the pilot to remotely control 6 drone attack units for all-range attacks using their brainwaves, ultimately becoming Char's personal mobile suit, the "Red Gundam."

The "HG 1/144 Expansion Parts Set for Red Gundam" is an armament accessory set that can be used with the separately sold Red Gundam main unit. The product includes four drone attack units, new triangular hangers for the drone parts, three long and three short clear stands, and a display base. These can be combined with the main unit kit to display the six drone attack units suspended on both shoulders, or in a scene where all of them are launched.

In addition, it also includes items not included with the main unit at the time: the Earth Federation Forces standard "Bazooka," the "Zaku Bazooka" used during the assassination of Kycilia, and effect parts to recreate the "Last Shooting" scene from the final battle against Zeekroga, where the Red Gundam pays homage to the original Gundam. These further expand the variety of play options.
