Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY, in collaboration with MAX FACTORY, is releasing a new product in their PLAMATEA plastic model kit series: the "Motoko Kusanagi" model kit, based on the classic anime "Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C." The suggested retail price is 8,500 JPY, with an anticipated release in July 2026!
"Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX" is a 2002 TV anime series produced by Production I.G., adapted from Japanese manga artist Masamune Shirow's "Ghost in the Shell" manga, first serialized in 1989. The story is set in a world with highly advanced technology and a new social structure formed by the fusion of humans and machines. It revolves around the special unit "Public Security Section 9," responsible for combating crime and terrorism, and its protagonist, Motoko Kusanagi, whose brain has been transplanted into a mechanical body.

This PLAMATEA Motoko Kusanagi model kit stands approximately 16 cm tall. Based on original illustrations, it features exquisite sculpting combined with precise part separation to faithfully recreate her appearance from the series. The curves of her waist and the voluptuousness of her hips are meticulously rendered! Key areas utilize pre-painted parts, allowing for a color scheme close to the original design even with a straight build! Accessories include three interchangeable face parts and two weapons used in the series: the Seburo M-5 handgun and the Seburo C-26A assault rifle, which can be posed dynamically with the included dedicated stand!
