Max Factory, a popular Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the upcoming release of "PlayStation for figmaPLUS," an expansion set themed around successive generations of PlayStation consoles for their popular "figma" action figure series, slated for September 2026.
The "PlayStation for figmaPLUS" product includes five home consoles and two handheld consoles released by Sony Interactive Entertainment from 1994 to the present, along with specialized hand parts designed to hold controllers. Produced at approximately 1/12 scale, similar to most figma action figures, the set not only meticulously recreates the consoles' appearance, colors, and textural differences through precise sculpting and paintwork but also includes accessories such as controllers and memory cards for each console, as well as iconic classic game software from each generation released by Sony itself!
▼ The original "PlayStation™" console, released in 1994, comes with a wired controller, a memory card, the "PocketStation" external device which functions as both a memory card and a mini-game console, and the game "Ape Escape," released in 1995.
▼ The "PlayStation™2" console, released in 2000, includes a wired controller, a memory card, and the highly acclaimed classic action-adventure game "Shadow of the Colossus."
▼ The first handheld console, "PlayStation™Portable," released in 2004, comes with "Everybody's Golf Portable," a launch title released concurrently with the console.
▼ The "PlayStation™3" console, released in 2006, recreates its unique curved design and includes a SixAxis wireless controller and the game "Toro! Let's Party!"
▼ The second-generation handheld console, "PlayStation™Vita," released in 2011, includes "Freedom Wars," a multiplayer action game developed by Sony itself.
▼ The best-selling "PlayStation™4" console, released in 2013, comes with a DualShock 4 wireless controller and the classic Souls-like masterpiece "Bloodborne," developed in collaboration with FromSoftware producer Hidetaka Miyazaki.
▼ The latest generation console, "PlayStation™5," released in 2020, includes a DualSense wireless controller and the action-adventure game "Astro Bot," which won Game of the Year at TGA 2024.
