BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan has announced the commercialization of the popular kaijin character "Spider Augment" from the movie *Shin Kamen Rider* for its highly sought-after "S.H.Figuarts" action figure series. The release date is yet to be determined.
The "Spider Augment" is a high-ranking member of the SHOCKER organization who pursues Takeshi Hongo and Ruriko Midorikawa at the beginning of the film. Its design is based on the "Spider Man" kaijin from the original *Kamen Rider*. As SHOCKER's first human-animal hybrid Augment, he is responsible for eliminating problematic individuals or traitors within the organization. He possesses a gentlemanly demeanor but harbors a strong dislike for humans, relishing the sensation of slowly killing his prey. His abilities extend beyond significantly enhanced physical capabilities; he can also emit highly viscous and strong silk threads, manipulate mechanical mini-spiders, and deploy four hidden arms, allowing him to skillfully evade attacks and calmly seek opportunities for counter-strikes.
The prototype for "S.H.Figuarts Spider Augment" has been unveiled, showcasing the intricate recreation of its mechanical, gas mask-like spider helmet and the complex, web-like patterns and colors across its entire body. Thanks to the flexible articulation design, the waist can bend significantly forward, and the legs can spread wide, allowing for dynamic crouching poses.
