Japanese toy company Kaiyodo is scheduled to release in August 2026 a posable figure of "Adol Christin" (アドル＝クリスティン), the protagonist of the classic action RPG game "Ys", in his "Ys I & II Chronicles" version. The figure will be priced at 9,900 JPY.
Veteran JRPG fans are certainly no strangers to the "Ys" (イース) series. "Ys" was developed by Japanese game developer Falcom, first released on personal computers in 1987, and subsequently ported to platforms such as the Nintendo Famicom and PC-Engine. Beginning with the personal adventure story of the red-haired swordsman protagonist "Adol Christin," the series allows players to experience firsthand the sights, people, and events he encounters in his travels. The latest installment in the series is "Ys X: Nordics," released on various platforms in September 2023.
This Adol Christin posable figure from Kaiyodo stands approximately 15 cm tall. Its design is based on his appearance during the "Ys I & II Chronicles" era, which is his early adventure look. At this time, Adol was only 17 years old. He features a red base design, wears silver armor, and wields a longsword and shield. The legend of Adol, the red-haired swordsman, begins here.
The entire body is posable, allowing for a variety of dynamic poses. Additionally, the accessories include three interchangeable face parts. Weapons include a longsword (with scabbard, capable of storing the longsword), a shield, a magic staff (with fireball effect parts), and more. There are also three sets of interchangeable hand parts and a display stand, making for a very comprehensive set.
