Days ago, reports surfaced indicating that Captain America, Steve Rogers, and Peggy Carter, after the events of "Avengers: Endgame," had actually settled in Earth-828, the universe where "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is set. Now, "The Hot Mic," a podcast specializing in exclusive entertainment scoops, and X account MyTimeToShineH have provided further details on why Steve and Peggy ended up in this particular timeline.

According to information gathered from both sources, Loki sought out Steve at some point before the conclusion of "Loki" Season 2. At that time, Steve and Peggy already had a son. Loki informed Steve that the Time Variance Authority (TVA) intended to prune this timeline because Steve shouldn't be there, nor should he have a child. However, Loki offered Steve a way out: he transferred Steve and his family to a universe where they had never existed, allowing them to live peacefully. That universe, of course, is the one inhabited by the Fantastic Four.

They lived on Earth-828 for many years until the events of "Avengers 5: Doomsday" unfolded. Doctor Doom would "falsely" warn the Fantastic Four about an impending major invasion, telling them they must travel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to stop it. Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom devised a plan, tracked down Steve, explained the situation, and requested his assistance. Steve agreed to return to the MCU with them to persuade the MCU heroes to lend a hand.

John Rocha, host of "The Hot Mic," noted that the sequence where Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four sought Steve's help was originally intended as a post-credits scene for "First Steps" but was later cut. However, Rocha stated that this plotline could still be incorporated into "Doomsday."

Rocha also revealed that as the villain in "Doomsday," Doctor Doom will command a group of wizards and witches. He speculated that this group might include variants of Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange.
