CCSTOYS, a Chinese toy brand, has unveiled detailed information for the second product in its die-cast action figure series, "MORTAL MIND TIEPO": the "EVA Unit-02 Type-II," based on the official spin-off novel *Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA*. It is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026.
*Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA* is an official spin-off novel created by Takuma Kageyama and Ikuto Yamashita. It diverges from the end of Episode 24 of the TV series *Neon Genesis Evangelion*, depicting an "if" storyline three years after the "Human Instrumentality Project" was not initiated. Many original settings are significantly altered, with 17-year-old Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu, and Rei Ayanami continuing to pilot new EVA units to prevent the "Human Instrumentality Project" from being reactivated.
In the story, the Unit-02 piloted by Asuka was heavily damaged during the NERV HQ defense battle, with its head pierced by the Lance of Longinus. Approximately 40% of its body was extensively repaired, transforming it into the "Unit-02 Type-II." Due to incomplete neural system repair, its head was changed from four eyes to two. Its full-body restraints adopted the same specifications as the "Unit-00 Kai," and its overall performance was significantly enhanced. For power, the length-restricted umbilical cable power supply was abolished, replaced by a "Wireless Power Rectification Antenna" mounted on its back, allowing it to remotely receive microwave charging from the S2 Engine within NERV HQ, thereby extending its operational time.
The "TIEPO EVA Unit-02 Type-II" stands approximately 31 cm tall, with its die-cast articulated frame weighing 520 grams. Its overall aesthetic design mirrors that of the previous "EVA Unit-13 Final Form," incorporating richer armor surface details based on Ikuto Yamashita's original design, enhancing its mechanical weapon feel. The outer armor and die-cast frame function like human bones and muscles, allowing for a slender and beautiful body silhouette while also enabling dynamic and natural human-like movements.
Regarding weaponry, the "Lance of Longinus," finished with a vibrant red metallic coating, boasts an impressive length of 52 cm. The "Wireless Power Rectification Antenna" mounted on its back measures approximately 30 cm in length, faithfully recreating its massive antennas and cables. A colossal "weapon rack" can be carried on its back, capable of storing various handheld weapons, including an emergency shield, N2 bomb & storage case, the new electromagnetic rifle "POWERD8," a POWERD8 light machine gun, and two dedicated High-Vibration Particle Blades.
Furthermore, accessories include parts for attaching various weapons to the main body, auxiliary stands, and a dedicated display base. Even the "Wireless Power Rectification Antenna" comes with its own stand, ensuring greater stability when displaying the EVA Unit-02 Type-II equipped with its large arsenal.
