Duel! LEGO ✕ Yu-Gi-Oh! "It's time to Duel!" Building Challenge Officially Begins

Since the Danish toy company LEGO began collaborating with Nintendo of Japan, releasing sets for works like "Super Mario Bros.," "Mario Kart," and "The Legend of Zelda," and with the advent of "One Piece" live-action merchandise and the upcoming "Pokémon" themed sets to be released at the end of February 2026, one can't help but feel that popular Japanese IPs all have the potential to be transformed into LEGO bricks! And the next one we're welcoming is none other than the classic work "Yu-Gi-Oh!" by the late Japanese manga artist Kazuki Takahashi!

However, this time, LEGO is not just releasing a "Yu-Gi-Oh!" themed set; instead, they are inviting LEGO fans worldwide to participate in the "It's time to Duel!" building competition held on the LEGO IDEAS platform! The winning entry for the Grand Prize will be officially commercialized by LEGO. The submission period will last until March 10, 2026.

The entry requirements for 【It's time to Duel!】 are as follows:
1. Your build must not exceed 2000 pieces.

2. Your build must have a minimum of 400 pieces.

3. Your build must focus on Battle City or Duelist Kingdom tournament arcs from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime.

Aside from the above conditions, LEGO has not placed many restrictions on the content. Whether you want to feature battle monsters, in-show characters, duel scenarios, or creative displays is entirely up to you. If we were to create LEGO models of battle monsters, the ones that immediately come to mind are "Time Wizard," "Giant Soldier of Stone," and "Magnet Warrior." However, fully recreating Kazuki Takahashi's powerful, clean lines or extremely avant-garde monster silhouettes with LEGO bricks will be very challenging. Fellow toy enthusiasts, do you have any interesting ideas in mind?!

In my impression, Blockman (ブロックマン) should not have appeared in either the "Battle City" or "Duelist Kingdom" arcs; otherwise, it would definitely be featured!
