Japan's Aniplex company, under its popular BUZZmod. (バズモッド) action figure series, has not only unveiled "Tanjiro Kamado Ver.2" but also simultaneously announced another new product based on the popular anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba"—the "Giyu Tomioka Ver.2" 1/12 scale action figure. It will retail for 11,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in November 2026!
Giyu Tomioka is the "Water Hashira" among the current Nine Pillars, mastering the Water Breathing technique. He possesses a calm demeanor and decisive actions; though he is not adept at socializing, he is in fact very gentle. At the beginning of the story, Giyu Tomioka saves Tanjiro and the newly transformed demon Nezuko, entrusting them to the tutelage of Master Sakonji Urokodaki. Later, influenced by Tanjiro's words, Giyu gradually lets go of his self-blame over the deaths of his loved ones, becoming more expressive of his emotions.
This BUZZmod. Giyu Tomioka Ver.2 1/12 scale action figure stands approximately 15 cm tall. It partially reuses elements from the previously released "BUZZmod. Giyu Tomioka," with adjustments made to the facial sculpt to reflect his appearance in the Infinity Castle Arc. The intricate folds of the Demon Slayer Corps uniform are faithfully recreated, and his iconic haori, featuring a half-and-half design, is crafted from fabric with hidden wires along the edges, allowing for dynamic, flowing poses!
For accessories, it once again includes four pairs of interchangeable hands, kneeling leg parts, and his Nichirin Blade in both drawn and sheathed forms. Additionally, it features four new interchangeable face parts, including his appearance with the Demon Slayer Mark from after the Hashira Training Arc. The Water Breathing effect parts, which can be rotated and adjusted for dynamic poses, have been increased to two sets, allowing for a wide range of cool attack stances when combined with the figure's flexible articulation!
