Amazon Prime Video's "God of War" live-action series has officially confirmed its Atreus casting, with rising star Callum Vinson taking on the role. He will star opposite Ryan Hurst, who plays Kratos, forming the emotional and narrative core of the series.

The official synopsis states that Kratos and a ten-year-old Atreus embark on a journey to fulfill the dying wish of Kratos's late wife and Atreus's mother, Faye.
Along the way, Kratos attempts to teach his son how to be a god, while Atreus hopes to teach his father how to retain his humanity. Producers describe it as a relational story about responsibility, loss, and understanding, rather than merely a mythological battle.

The "God of War" live-action series has received a two-season direct-to-series order from Amazon and is currently in pre-production in Vancouver. Ronald D. Moore, co-writer of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," serves as showrunner and writer.
