Denmark's LEGO toy company yesterday (9th) unveiled several new products. This article will introduce the new LEGO Ideas Series set number 21366, "Floating Sea Otters"! It is scheduled for release on March 1, 2026, with a suggested retail price of US$119.99.

This set contains a total of 1234 pieces. Once assembled, it stands approximately 8 cm tall and measures 30 cm long. The overall design depicts an adorable scene of a mother sea otter floating on her back, gracefully swimming in the water, with her baby otter placed on her belly, creating an incredibly heartwarming image. The two sea otters are constructed using sand, dark brown, and black bricks. The mother sea otter's limbs feature articulated joints, allowing the baby otter to be placed in her embrace, or a clam shell to be added. The abundant use of translucent blue bricks also makes this set look quite beautiful, while the black base makes the model easy to reposition and enhances its overall aesthetic.

Since this is a LEGO Ideas series product, of course, we have to look at the original design! It's clear that the commercialized version differs significantly from the "Floating Sea Otters" created by the original designer and LEGO fan, HisBrickMaterials. While the overall structure, sea otter poses, and base form have largely been maintained, the distinctive charm of the sea otters built by HisBrickMaterials has completely vanished. Personally, I believe the official version is also very interesting, offering even richer playability, and the sea otter's form is more realistically rendered, but it is no longer HisBrickMaterials' sea otter. What do you toy enthusiasts think?
