Japanese game developer Arc System Works officially announced the release date and additional character information for its upcoming fighting game, "Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls," during Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) latest "State of Play" presentation.
The title is slated to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC platforms on August 6, 2026, welcoming several iconic X-Men members to the fray.

The developers revealed that a formidable lineup of X-Men will be the latest additions to the roster, including Wolverine, Storm, Magik, and Danger. Wolverine's move set, in particular, emphasizes close-range pressure and a hard-hitting style, even allowing his claws to gain an armor effect, showcasing a tank-like combat rhythm.

In addition to its versus mode, "Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls" will also feature an "Episode Mode" story mode. This mode blends narrative characteristics of both American and Japanese comics, presented in a motion comic style to create a story progression more aligned with modern video game experiences.
While some character names had leaked online earlier this week, the official confirmation still garnered significant player attention. A playable demo of the game previously debuted during EVO 2025, drawing discussion for its fluid combos and distinctive visual style.
